Well, rehearsel's have started...slowly....
we had our holiday rehearsel's with character building and what not, but now that the real "down to business" rehearsel's have begun,...it's a bit of a wake up call and a culture shock.
6 weeks is all we have until the performance...(well techinically 5 with production week being in the 6th week)...and thats not along time.
Yesterday 2/5/07, i couldn't attend the first afterschool rehearsel because of a football commitment which was out of my control. It was the only training we had this week and it happened to be selection night. Now what pisses me off to be quite honest is the bickering that followed...Now what alot of people fail to realise is that it's 1st XVIII football people...the highest level of football in the college competing against other people from schools such as Sacred Heart, St Peters and Prince Alfred College - (people from those schools currently play League at SANFL clubs and will potentially make AFL - it's not a modified league or a skirt bearing, oh i broke a nail competition by any stretch of the imagination. I'm no sexist, but what alot of femails fail to accept (especially when they're not heavly involved in the sport) is the fact that there is an immense pressure put on footballers, a high demand on players by coaches, and first impression is a lasting impression! It's not easy to miss a training...especially when its the first and only training back from holidays before the first game of the season.
This is not sepcifically aimed at anyone in particular, i just want to let the group know things they might not have.
Edgar.

Lord of the Ring...(master)...
The cast list has been decided, and like every secret inevitably ends up...revealed. Much to my surprise I have been given the role of R I N G M A S T E R. Whilst somewhat surprised I am more than happy with the role, and subsequently look forward to the challenge - yes, CHALLENGE. I think it's going be an enormous challenge because the character is so "BIG" (as in character, not as in amount of dialogue or stage time), and thus the challenge comes by having to portray him as a mysterious, 'big,' and energetic character without being too inroverted and fake.
Other than that , i'm looking forward to the "production," yet the 9 weeks prior are going to be a circus in itself, what with the likes of the lack of "chemistry" as such within the class. At the moment, our class is in two segments - (OIL & WATER), we're not mixing!
Anyway, besides that, i'm looking forward to playing the role of RINGMASTER, and hope to hell i can do it some justice: - should be good fun!
Cheers
Edgar

ISP doesn't cut the mustard
Finally, i have chosen what i am going to do;
I will be doing the group production, "mirror, mirror," as i have decided that doing an ISP is fairly risky considering different reasons. All the back up work you do for an ISP isn't taken into as much notice as the actual performance of the ISP itself; and thus if i cock up the ISP completely, giving me a shit(vers) mark, having done all this hard work prior; i would be kicking myself as i wonder what could have i achieved by doing the group production. So group production it is.
Now, character; as mentioned previously in one of my blogs, i really like the mysteriousness and creepiness of 'VOICE," and subsequently i woud love to play this character because i would love the challenge to do it. But most of all, i just love the way the voice is the quintessence, link and instigator of the theme anorexia within the girl; the fact that it's a character without meaning to be an actual person; if you know what i mean (i do).
Anyway, must be off
Cheers

Ignorance is NOT bliss...sometimes
Hello; having started reading mirror, mirror i have found that it is an interesting concept and idea.
Even though it displays a serious issue, the comedy aspect of it prevents it from being confronting; and i like the fact that it's written this way.
At the present time; i'm still somewhat undecided, however, i'm starting to lean more towards the group production.
I really like the character "voice," the way it's so mysterious and creepy.
Cheers

Mirror, Mirror on the wall...why the blurry reflection???
NOTE: Although published recently, this post has been written from thoughts a few weeks ago. Thankyou.
FINALLY...i've figured out how to get into the bloody thing.
But anyway, lets cut to the chase and get to the more important matters.
I am currently torn between two worlds..."group production" or "ISP!"
Group Productions are exciting, fun and a worthwhile part of doing Yr 12 Drama. But i am currently considering doing an ISP because it's something i find inspiraion and motivation in doing. I feel that it's something i could achieve great success in, however where I'm undecided is i don't want to regret not doing the year 12 drama production when i see the fun i could have had, and the good times shared with friends during the last year at school. But again, the ISP idea i have, if i could achieve it, it would give an immense self-satisfaction; but where i start to doubt this is the fact that my ideas are seemingly ambitious and thus it may hinder the success i wish to achieve. But anyway, i will read "Mirror, Mirror," weigh up a few options and decide from there.
Thankyou
Edgar

G'day
G'day G'day, my name is Luke and i'm an alc...sorry, and this is my blog.
I am currently doing time in the state penitentiary for a hanus serial act..........FLASHING!
No, im currently in progress of doing year 12 at the present time in of this existing year. Subjects I'm studying other than drama are Legal Studies, Histroy, English, and P.E with the intent to go to uni and study law, thus specialising in criminal law. (I will keep all you naughty pricks out of jail, including serial flashers) I want to also try acting in the big time overseas!
I enjoy and chose to do drama because i like to perform and entertain people (especially comidic wise).
Other than school facilitated cirriculum i love going up the river and hence wakeboarding/skiing (absolutely love the river) and other hobbies include football, (used to play cricket but not find it boring as batsh*t, still like watching it). And you can't beat the Aussie quiet beer with mates on the weekend, although quiet is an understatement most times!
Im an optimist, very philosophical and believe "what will be, will be," "that everything happens for a reason", and "life is short so make the most of it." I can't hold grudges, but if i don't like someone it won't change! I'm very determined and when focused on something will not be put off by anyone or anything.
Anyway thats about it,
Edgar
